History
1992
Rapid City Community Health Center (RCCHC) was established.
Opening in November with one medical provider, RCCHC began seeing patients at 725 N. LaCrosse St.
1993
RCCHC hired a second medical provider.
1994
With funding from the South Dakota Department of Health, RCCHC began the Family Planning program and Immunization Outreach program.
1995
RCCHC was granted funding to begin the Healthcare for the Homeless (HCH) Program providing free healthcare services for our local homeless population.
1997
The clinic moved to 504 E. Monroe Street.
1997 was the 1st year RCCHC was accepted as a member of the Rapid City Area United Way and received funding to help provide medications to those who could not afford them.
2003
In January 2003, RCCHC opened the Oral Health Center at 687 N. LaCrosse St., Ste. 5.
2006
December 19th, 2006 the Health Center changed its name to Community Health Center of the Black Hills.
2008
CHCBH opened a Pediatric Health Center located at 640 Flormann St.
2009
CHCBH opened the first School-Based Health Center in the state of South Dakota. The Health Center is located in General Beadle Community School and provides medical, dental, and mental health to the students, their families, and the community.
2010
CHCBH was accepted as a member of the Sturgis Area and the Southern Hills Area United Way Agencies.
2011
April 2011, CHCBH Pediatric Health Center was relocated to 725 Meade St., Ste. 200.
CHCBH was accepted as a member of the Northern Hills Area United Way.
2012
February 28th, 2012 CHCBH purchased 4.59 acres of land located at 725 E. Philadelphia St.
2014
Construction began on a new consolidated and expanded Community Health Center building.
Dental, pediatric and family practice services will be available in the new facility. Pharmacy, lab and x-ray will also be provided on site.
2015
The consolidated Community Health Center building opened its doors to patients on November 9th.
2016
Community Health Center of the Black Hills opens a Pharmacy at the 350 Pine Street location in March.
